Leadership

The Business and Finance Institute of Canada is lead by a group of experienced industry professionals and academics.

Professor Brian Gordon, CFA, CFP, CIM, MBA, FCSI, experience in the financial services industry and field of academics spans more than three decades. In his capacity as President and CEO of the BFIOC he oversees the development of our proprietary designations and course offerings. In addition to his oversight duties, Prof. Gordon leads our industry relations and academic accreditation committees.


Kismet Goodbaum, BA, CIM, adds more than three decades of senior management experience in the fields of wealth management, post-secondary education and professional exam preparation. In her role as the Chief Compliance Officer, Ms. Goodbaum leads the development of internal reviews to assess BFIOC's compliance with applicable laws and regulations. As well she insures adequate record maintenance and processes are in place to foster a culture of compliance and ethics.


Tanya Fremont, MBA, brings more than two decades of senior management experience in the fields of post-secondary education and professional exam preparation. In her role as the Head of Student Services, Ms. Fremont oversees the activities conducted by BFIOC's Student Success Team. She is the point person for handling logistics for student activities and events as well as maintaining academic and financial records.

The Business and Finance Institute of Canada employs a mix of experienced industry professionals and academics to inspire its learners.

Professor Brian Gordon, CFA, CFP, CIM, MBA, FCSI, is a wealth of knowlege having taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels for more than 20 years. In addition to his teaching duties, Professor Gordon was responsible for the creation and delivery of the Financial Analysis Certificate program at Queen's University as well as restructuring the Financial Services program at Centennial College where he taught Economics, Accounting, Corporate Finance, the LLQP course, the IFIC Mutual Funds course, the Canadian Securities Course, Insurance and Risk Management, Credit and Collections and Marketing Financial Services.


Jordan M. Atin, LL.B, STEP, a remarkable estate and trust planning resource, Mr. Atin serves as a subject matter expert. Mr. Atin is an Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, and an award winning author who publishes extensively in both academic and professional journals and appears on TV as an expert on estate matters.


Professor Michael W. Shekter, MBA, is a full-time Business Professor at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada and a frequent contributor to marketing and business innovation conferences and publications. Professor Shekter's wealth of professional teaching experience spans more than two decades and encompasses instructor roles at Rotman School of Management, Schulich School of Business, Humber College and Ted Rogers School of Management.


Gerry Ramos, CFA, MBA, CFP, CIM, LLM, Mr. Ramos adds over two decades of financial industry leadership and academic experience. He has held various senior Financial Services Industry positions in Training, Asset management, Financial planning, Operations and Compliance and has been developing and teaching financial education and exam preparatory courses for more than ten years.


Vikram Iyer, CFA, MS Finance, Mr. Iyer is a top-rated University instructor and trainer with more than a decade of teaching experience. His areas of teaching expertise include Corporate Finance, Statistics, Economics, Accounting, Portfolio Management and Derivatives.
